Terms of Service
By downloading, accessing, or using Car Lounge ("the app", "the service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. What Car Lounge is
Car Lounge is a mobile social network for car enthusiasts. It provides garage tracking, vehicle verification, local meets, group chats, posts, reels, and a marketplace surface. Some features require account verification tiers (Vehicle, Shop, Identity).
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years old to use Car Lounge. By using the app, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at dev.hummus@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access. One account per person; do not impersonate others.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Car Lounge to:
- Harass, stalk, threaten, dox, or harm any person.
- Post sexually explicit content, content involving minors, gore, hate speech, or content depicting non-consensual acts.
- Impersonate another person, shop, or brand.
- Spam, flood feeds, run unauthorized automation, or scrape the service.
- Solicit illegal activity, including but not limited to street racing on public roads, sale of stolen parts, or VIN fraud.
- Sell counterfeit parts, vehicles with undisclosed salvage titles, or other items in violation of law.
- Reverse engineer the app, attempt to access the database directly, or circumvent moderation.
Violations may result in content removal, suspension, or permanent ban without notice and without refund of any paid subscription.
5. User-generated content (UGC)
You retain ownership of the posts, photos, reels, vehicles, and messages you create. By posting them on Car Lounge, you grant Hummus Development LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, distribute, and create thumbnail/preview versions of your content solely for the purpose of operating the service.
You represent that you own or have the right to post the content you upload, and that it does not violate any third party's rights (including trademark, copyright, or right of publicity).
6. Moderation
We use automated systems and human review to moderate content. We may remove content, downrank posts, suspend accounts, or ban users at our sole discretion when content violates these Terms, applicable law, or the spirit of the community. We are not obligated to publish or retain any user submission.
You can report content via the ··· menu on any post, message, or profile. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours.
7. Meets — liability waiver
READ THIS CAREFULLY. Car Lounge hosts a discovery surface for car meets. We do not organize, supervise, sponsor, insure, or guarantee any meet, attendee, or location. By creating, attending, RSVPing, or being a bystander at any meet you discover through Car Lounge, you waive any and all claims against Car Lounge, Hummus Development LLC, and its officers, members, employees, and affiliates for:
- property damage (including vehicle damage)
- theft of vehicles, parts, or personal items
- personal injury or death
- arrests, traffic citations, fines, or towing
- any criminal acts by other attendees or third parties
- conduct by meet hosts, attendees, or law enforcement
This waiver applies whether you attend as a host, an RSVP'd attendee, an unannounced participant, or a bystander, and whether the meet occurs on public roads, private property, or any other venue. You assume all risk of attendance.
You further agree to obey all traffic laws, never engage in street racing on public roads, and never operate a vehicle while impaired. If law enforcement breaks up a meet, you accept all consequences.
8. Marketplace
If you list a vehicle, part, or service in the Car Lounge marketplace, you are entering an agreement directly with the buyer. Car Lounge is not a party to the transaction. You are responsible for accurate disclosure (mileage, accidents, salvage title, mechanical condition), legal title transfer, and tax compliance. Car Lounge may remove listings that appear fraudulent or violate these Terms.
9. Subscriptions and points
Car Lounge may offer a Premium subscription (auto-renewing through Apple In-App Purchase). Subscriptions are billed by Apple under their terms. Cancel anytime in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. No prorated refunds for partial periods.
Points earned by watching sponsored ads have no cash value, are non-transferable, and may be revoked for fraud. Points may expire or be re-priced; we'll announce material changes in-app.
10. Apple End-User License Agreement
If you obtained Car Lounge through the Apple App Store, your license is also subject to Apple's Standard End-User License Agreement (apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula). Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them. Apple is not responsible for the app or its support.
11. AI & automated systems
Some Car Lounge features (text moderation, content recommendations, VIN decoding) use automated systems including third-party AI services. These systems are imperfect and may produce false positives or false negatives. If automated moderation affects your account in error, contact us for human review.
12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Car Lounge is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hummus Development LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data, loss of profit, or injury from interactions with other users. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the prior 12 months (which may be $0 for free users).
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hummus Development LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your content, your conduct at a meet, your marketplace transactions, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms, suspected fraud, or legal compulsion. You may delete your account at any time via Settings.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
16. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree to bring any dispute exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Fairfax County, Virginia, and waive any objection to that venue.
